German practicality: heating systems that are preferred in Germany

Many Russians prefer to focus on German practicality when choosing building materials and equipment. People purposefully look for German windows, German ceilings, German finishing materials (floors, wallpaper, etc. P.), German equipment, German fittings and even German air conditioners. There are even those who choose German furniture, especially German kitchen furniture (even taking into account the fact that it is less popular than Italian). Also in Russia they are sometimes looking for projects of German houses and companies that are being built using German technologies.

German goods are chosen not only because they are of high quality, but also because they are practical. In other words, the Germans prefer to do so that everything is durable, efficient, firm and simple. That is why some construction and repair technologies adop the Germans also adopt.

When it comes to heating, you can not only buy German boiler or German radiators, but also adopt German traditions and their practical choice.

After the Russian person built a house, he orders the design and installation of heating systems in it. This is a fairly serious type of work, but it begins with the choice of fuel, which will heat the house. The client himself should make this choice, because each system has its own amenities and disadvantages that the owner of the house weighs. And no company can make a choice for its customer.

Houses are heated on natural gas, using a heat pump, centralized water heating from the city (village) source, on liquid fuel and on solid fuel. Only after the client chooses fuel, the company can offer him heating equipment. All companies cooperate with different manufacturers of heating equipment, and the more popular the brands are in their assortment, the better (because popular brands have good guarantees and service plans). The company that mounts your equipment gives you a guarantee of the equipment manufacturer and your own installation warranty. If you go to the company’s website, you will find there a long list of main brands of heating equipment, which includes most of the main brands of boilers manufacturers.

If you want to adopt the German experience in heating the house, then use statistics. Statistics say that recently the Germans are actively switching to heating houses with the help of heat pumps. This requires one of the most expensive types of equipment, but this often allows minimizing heating costs. The heat pump allows you to heat the house using thermal energy, which is mined from the environment (soil, water, air).

Despite the fact that many Germans switch to heating with heat pumps, most of the heating systems in Germany are still working on natural gas. This, by the way, is the reason why German gas boilers are more common than other types of boilers. Natural gas boilers are installed today in almost every second house in Germany (49.8% of new houses are heated in this way), and thermal pumps are installed in one of the five new houses (19.9% houses). 21.5% of new houses in Germany are connected to centralized heat supply, about 6% of new houses decide to heat the premises using systems operating on solid -state fuel (for example, firewood). A few years ago in Germany there were many boilers working on liquid fuel, but their number has decreased sharply in recent years, and now this is not a very popular type of heating.

Despite the fact that gas boilers are still most, their share is also reduced and the number of heat pumps is increased and increases. If ten years ago only 3% of homeowners made a choice in favor of thermal pumps in Germany, now they are already choosing 19.9% of families.

Replacing a heating system in an existing house – this is usually an expensive pleasure. Therefore, in old houses in Germany, they prefer to use what was established earlier until it comes time to make a great modernization of the whole house. Although in Germany since 2015 has been operating programs that support families that decide to switch to energy -efficient heating systems. Within the framework of such programs, owners of houses are given a grant of about 10% of the cost of transition to energy -saving heating using a gas boiler. If the family switches to renewable energy sources, for example, solar panels and thermal energy (heat pumps), it claims to be even more powerful funding.
